Central Banks: Monetary policy reviews will occur in Hungary and South Africa. Minutes from the last policy meetings will be released by the European Central Bank and Reserve Bank of Australia. RBA Governor Lowe, BOJ Governor Kuroda, and NY Fed President Williams speak publicly.
Holidays and Special Events: Indonesia celebrates the birthday of Muhammed on Tuesday. U.S. Thanksgiving is on Thursday, and Japan’s Labor Thanksgiving holiday is on Friday. A Eurogroup meeting and EcoFin meeting are scheduled. The EU’s decision on Italy’s budget will be revealed.
Scheduled U.S. Statistical Releases: Monthly housing starts, building permits, existing home sales, the National Association of Home Builders housing index, durable goods orders, the Reuters/U. Michigan consumer sentiment index, and Conference Board index of leading economic indicators. Also, weekly jobless insurance claims, consumer comfort, mortgage applications, chain store sales, and energy inventories.
Japanese Data: Consumer prices, all industry index, customs trade balance, department store and supermarket sales, machine tool orders, and the preliminary manufacturing PMI survey findings for November.
Other Selected Asian Releases: Malaysian, Hong Kong, and Singaporean consumer prices. Thai and Singaporean GDP. Singapore’s PPI.
Euroland: Preliminary manufacturing and service-sector purchasing manager indices. Current account, construction output, and consumer confidence.
Members of the Euro Area: German and French preliminary PMI surveys. German, Spanish, Irish, and Portuguese producer prices. German, Belgian, and Dutch consumer confidence. French and Belgian business sentiment. Greek and Portuguese current accounts. Spain’s trade balance, Austrian industrial production, and French index of leading economic indicators.
U.K. and Switzerland: British monthly public sector net borrowing, Rightmove house price index and CBI surveys of industrial trends and distributive trades. Swiss trade surplus, money growth and industrial production.
Nordic Europe: Norwegian and Danish consumer confidence. Icelandic consumer prices, unemployment, and wage inflation. Danish retail sales.
